Each photographer has his very own style of capturing. After many years of shooting, you usually can narrow the different techniques and approaches into different style categories. We have narrowed it right down to four different typical formats of Hochzeitsfotograf Köln that we cover. We are completely and fully comfortable shooting each one and allow the couple to choose which style best represents their personality and flair!

1. Wedding Photojournalism

A wedding photojournalistic style of photography involves the photographer not being involved as much as normal. The story is told although photographs and emphasis is taken off of the typical posed and planned pictures. With this particular style of wedding photography, we often stand on the sidelines and shoot from the background, becoming as unobtrusive as you can. However, the photos we capture put the viewer right in the mix of what is happening. We capture natural moments that occur in reality without the typical setting up and posing an image. With this style of photography, we consider ourselves being "photographic storytellers," guiding the viewer with the "story" of your big day. This is our choice format of wedding photography. We truly enjoy finding those definite moments of significance that frequently pass by too rapidly and capturing them inside our lens.

2. Traditional Wedding Photography

Unlike wedding ceremony photojournalistic style, this style of photography has much involvement in the photographer. Many of the portraits are set up and posed, incorporating a more traditional approach to wedding pictures. The wedding photographer provides a director of sorts, guiding the marriage party and guests into formations and poses for photos. Even though the main kind of shooting for the studio may be the Wedding Photojournalistic style, we all do have experience of directing and leading wedding events into the posed group and individual formal pictures.

3. Fashion Photography

This style of wedding photography rings true with its name - it really is focused on the part of fashion. Brides who request fashion wedding photos to be taken often book studio time outside of a normal wedding day shoot. This enables the photographers to plan out a session incorporating more lighting and artistic techniques. Performing a fashion wedding shoot in studio also enables the bride more freedom in getting into typical fashion poses (including the hands on the hips, hunched back pose) combined with a more serious and "fashion-like" facial expression. Both brides and grooms request this style of wedding photography to include something different and dramatic to their wedding photo album.

4. Trash Clothes Wedding Photography

Symbolic of its name, this style of wedding photography necessitates the "dirtying" of wedding dress worn after the fact. This style of photography is also called "fearless bridal" or "rock the frock." Typically, brides choose this after everything is said and done to offer a creative option to storing away their wedding dress that they will never wear again. A bride can go out to a beach or even a fountain, take pictures in city streets or on railroads, in abandoned buildings or fields, or perhaps get muddied in the woods. Often times, brides believe that this helps them release the deep tension in the wedding. It's rather a bride's declaration that the wedding is done and the dress will not be worn again, so why don't you be creative and artistic with it? At our wedding photography studio, we have been more than happy to do business with brides who want to "Trash The Dress!"
